My Story: From Barely Functioning to Feeling Vibrant Again


I don’t know exactly when my inflammation began. At first, I thought it was menopause. But when menopause passed, things only got worse.

I gained 55 pounds.
My brain function was so bad I was scared I had early-onset dementia.
I couldn’t walk on my feet in the morning.
Exercise made me crash for days or weeks.
Everything I ate seemed to inflame me more.
 

As a BodyMind expert who spent decades helping others figure out what doctors couldn’t, I was used to finding solutions. But this time, nothing worked.
 

Eventually, I was diagnosed with MCAS. I finally had a name for it, but the doctor’s protocol was impossible. Pages of foods to avoid. Others to “test.” Two hours a day of nervous system resets. Fresh food only, no leftovers, no meat unless butchered and flash-frozen.

To do what I needed to do to get better required energy, brain access, and resources I just did not have. 
 

Sound science, sure. But not designed for people who are already chronically ill.

So I did what I’ve always done: I took it to my altar, to my research, and to trial and error.

My goal was clear: do as little as humanly possible to get the biggest results I could because I simply couldn’t do more.

I have studied health and nutrition since I was a teenager so I took to the research easily. I was looking for the broadest, most effective, most streamlined way to eat and to live that would get me out of the downward spiral. I was so miserable I honestly had times where I didn’t want to be here anymore.

I put together a protocol. I ordered the supplements, ordered the tools, and bought the food I would need and I started. 
 

It wasn’t instant. It took me a year of staying the course before I felt real change. But when my body finally turned the corner, everything shifted.
 

Today, more than three years into this protocol, I feel vibrant and strong for my age. Most days, I forget I have a chronic illness. I’m not “cured” - if I “cheat”, I feel it. But this spring was the best pollen season I’ve had in decades. I no longer live in daily pain and exhaustion. I feel happy and enthusiastic, I can actually sleep, and my daily migraines are nearly gone and the ones I do get are a million times less debilitating than they used to be.

I want you to be crystal clear on what this program is and what it isn’t.
 

This program is not vegetarian-friendly:
I include a vegetarian option, but most people will find it very difficult to follow.

 

It requires full commitment:
This is not a “try when you feel like it” plan. To get results, you have to commit with no cheating and stay consistent. You can take the time you need to transition into this as your new way of living, but once you do, consistency is everything.

 

It took me over a year of sticking 100% to this protocol to see a major shift. Along the way I noticed smaller, encouraging changes like weight loss, but real change took time. Your timeline may be shorter or longer, but you need to remain consistent.

Our relationship with food is complicated, and some people would rather feel indulged than healthy. For me, health matters more than indulgence. But this way of living has meant I can feel good and still travel, eat out, and enjoy life without much difficulty. I will follow this protocol for the rest of my life, and I am both happier and healthier for it. In the beginning my protocol was way more restricted but as I have gotten healthier I can include more and more without getting sick from it.
