Beyond the Moral Distortion of Purity
Purification is the beginning of initiation. It is not about scrubbing away sin, not about measuring up to some moral standard of purity, not about good and evil at war inside us. That is the distortion modern culture has overlaid on a word that once signified something far more profound. Purification, in its initiatory sense, is the beginning alchemy of the soul. It prepares us for higher reception, clearing the channels of perception so that deeper intelligence can transmit directly into our embodied lives.
Preparing the Soul for Higher Reception
To purify is to make room. It is to clear interference, to dissolve the static, to remove the debris that clouds resonance. Our bodies are capable of contact with unseen intelligences, not in some distant afterlife, but here and now, through the flesh that breathes and feels. When we undergo purification, we do not discard the body; we ready it. We render it permeable, tuned, resonant. In this way, purification is not an ascetic withdrawal from life, but an intensification of life’s immediacy. It is the discipline of re-entering the sacredness of the present, the recognition that perception itself can become transparent to what is more.
The Body as Transmitter
This first step of initiation is crucial because without purification, distortion dominates the field. Distortion does not mean “evil.” It means interference. The subtle transmissions of the unseen are drowned out by noise. Our relational channels are clogged with unprocessed residue, habitual pattern, internalized moralism, and the constant press of distraction. Purification re-sets these channels. It teaches us to return to resonance so that the transmissions of the unseen can come through noetically, directly into mind and body, without as much distortion. This is why initiation begins here: because without clearing space, nothing further can take root.
We glimpse this necessity in myth. Again and again, descent and cleansing precede revelation. A seeker enters the underworld before receiving the boon, a soul undergoes trials before vision opens. These myths reveal a deep truth: purification is not a preparation for some future reward, but the immediate re-attunement that makes transformation possible. It is the threshold between the ordinary and the sacred, between a life bound by distortion and a life opened to the intelligence that pervades all things.
The Threshold of Resonance
In the tripartite pattern of initiation, purification is always first. It precedes transmission of doctrine, it precedes the opening of the spiritual eye. Without purification, transmission cannot be received, and vision cannot stabilize. This is why purification is never simply preliminary. It is the foundation upon which every further step rests. It is an alchemy that must be practiced continually, not just once. We do not purify and move on. We purify so that we can keep listening, keep receiving, keep allowing deeper intelligence to guide us.
Purification is not about being "good", it is about being resonant.
In my Feral Power teachings, purification is not an abstract concept but a living practice. It shows up in how we track distortion in our own fields, how we notice when resonance has been lost, how we reclaim clarity in our bodies and relationships. To set a boundary with sacred clarity, one must first clear the fog that disguises predatory patterns. To stand in right-relationship, one must clear the inherited distortions that bind the field in confusion. This is purification: not about becoming “pure” but about becoming resonant. Not about erasing the mess of being human, but about aligning enough that intelligence can move through without obstruction.
Purification also carries risk. It asks us to let go of what is familiar, even when that familiarity is distorted. It strips away the protections we build from distortion and exposes us to the nakedness of resonance. This vulnerability is the cost of initiation. But it is also the gift. For once the static is cleared, what remains is not emptiness but fullness. The soul receives directly. The body becomes a transmitter. The unseen speaks through us, not as hallucination or fantasy, but as lived contact in the here and now.
Without Purification, There Is No Initiation
This is why purification must be reclaimed from the moralism that has distorted it. When purity is measured by adherence to codes, when it is collapsed into binaries of good and evil, moral and immoral, we lose the essence of what initiation requires. Purification is not about being good, it is about being resonant. It is not about measuring worth, it is about creating the conditions where relational intelligence can flow. Without purification, there is no initiation. To reclaim purification is to reclaim initiation itself, as a practice of opening, of clearing, of preparing the soul for higher reception.
Every act of initiation begins with this first step. Not as a gatekeeping demand, but as a gift. Purification is how we step into resonance with the greater ecology of life. It is how we ready ourselves to be met. It is the opening move in the alchemy of the soul, and without it, nothing further can unfold.

Love this ! I resonate deeply with this teaching of purification . I feel myself step into this resonance over every ask , every question . Self interest as though I am not loved not profoundly cared for is what I repeatedly confront and purify to stay in resonance . As always I am ongoing in my learning in my leaning into instead of against 💫💛
